Belgian fashion group FFDI strengthens position with acquisition Collectors Club

Belgian fashion brand ‘Collectors Club’, launched in 2013 by founders Nele and Veerle Van Doorslaer in the lap of their multi-brand boutiques A Suivre, is now part of Flanders Fashion Design International. This Belgian fashion group, with established brands such as FURORE, JULIA JUNE and her. in its portfolio, now also welcomes the unique style and vision of Collectors Club. The acquisition strengthens the family-owned company’s market position in a challenging sector.

Stronger together against fast fashion

Flanders Fashion Design International is betting on a bigger market share, both nationally and internationally, with the acquisition of a valued brand like Collectors Club.

With around 65 retailers spread across several countries, including Belgium, France, the Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland, the Czech Republic, Saudi Arabia and Hong Kong, Collectors Club is available through a solid network of international retailers.

As a ‘House of Trust’, led by CEO Veerle Baert Moortgat (Hop!nvest BV) and spurred on by shareholders Kim, Elke and Stijn Baert, descendants of the fifth generation of Duvel Moortgat, FFDI is charting an innovative course. Together with its European business partners, FFDI aims not only to challenge the accepted codes of fast fashion, but also to set a new standard for sustainability in the sector. “Without a sustainable approach, a fashion brand is not only brand-unworthy but also unworthy of people”.

Despite the challenges following the pandemic, both parties see opportunities above all in their joint journey. Thanks to their shared values, ambitions and vision, they believe in a synergistic effect, where one plus one becomes three.

Together, the four brands currently serve more than 250 retailers. This shows that Belgian fashion is still highly valued, while FFDI aspires to expand this network even further worldwide.

Nele Van Doorslaer, not only the creative driving force behind Collectors Club, but also the head of design, together with her team from the three boutiques in Knokke, Sint-Martens-Latem and Kortrijk, will play a crucial role in further growth and innovation within the Belgian fashion house FFDI.
